AND we’re excited to welcome The Ocean Blue to our stage on Friday, February 6th - tour name checks out suffice to say. This is the same band that defined an era of dream-pop elegance and jangly guitar riffs, ANDDDD to have them right here in our room — on a crisp winter night no less — feels like a little gift from the indie-pop gods. And with their Frigid Winter Days 2026 Tour sweeping across the country hitting all the top spots and the little ones in between, this show is gonna be fun, massive, a once in a lifetime experience - and it’s exactly why we need you here for it al.
The Ocean Blue’s story starts back in Hershey, Pennsylvania — yep, the chocolate town — where a group of high school friends began crafting melancholy though unmistakably clean guitar sound that would soon become their signature. Formed by frontman David Schelzel and bassist Bobby Mittan - they were just teenagers when they formed the band all the way back in 1986, but that didn’t stop them from taking over the world by the time we got here. By the time they dropped their 1989 self-titled album on Sire Records, The Ocean Blue had already cemented themselves as the new darlings of college radio. “Between Something and Nothing” hit the alternative charts, MTV picked them up, critics swooned, and suddenly this little-band-from-Pennsylvania was sharing space with the UK dream-pop giants they were often compared to.
Through the ’90s they kept the magic going with Cerulean, Beneath the Rhythm & Sound, and a string of releases that kept their fanbase ride-or-die loyal. They toured the world, played the legendary rooms, and became a reference point for every kid who grew up loving clean guitar tones, dreamy vocals, and east coast darlings of the scene. Even in their later independent years, The Ocean Blue held onto their cult-classic status — and their 2019 record Kings and Queens / Knaves and Thieves proved the sound still hits just as sweet. All this and more are enough reasons for us to see them - don’t you agree?! We thought so, and that’s why we need you here for it all too!
Y’all know what to do - get the crew, your favorite all black boots, and a coat of course. And then - we’ll see you soon! Right here for it all.
